the nature of nature is naturally unnatural
a little wind here, a little rain there and behold
the scared and helpless humans with little machines
out of their depth whilst the earth swallows them whole

caged
can’t remember the last soul
i had a talk with, alive or dead
monsters swirling, thoughts burning
oh, the sins inside of my head
left with my own instruments
thinking of a world mortals dread
shouldn’t have left me alone to die
darlings, you made your own bed
addicted
thrill of a secret, behind closed door
hushed voices, scared to the core
a drag, this life, a drag to forget
needle underneath, and now it’s too late
buried with burden, i’m free no more
ripped hearts i see, i see promises i tore
undone by lows, high only to hate
quest a happy life, alas! sealed fate
secrets in plain sight
there’s something about those eyes
piercing through the heart
and yet cold and distant
i fear the secrets they hide
shadows
loneliness by nature is lonely
thrilling matches witnessed alone
long walks and empty hands
dinner for one, staring at walls
i strategically lit my home
for shadows are my friends now
sunless
no wonder days look so blurred
i don’t remember what sun looks like
there’s no warmth through my window
just cold, distant wind
the skies replaced by dark clouds
seem to have made themselves home
and yet false hope facing flyward
is still waiting for sunshine
betrayal
is it fair to stab in the back
a person you held dear
the ruthlessness of the society
made you do that you fear
might someday happen to you
advantage over relations
pragmatic over emotions
at what cost, though
promises on occasions
are now buried declarations
what’s left behind
is a broken heart
and a soul unhealing
even sobs have choked
themselves to sleep
not that into you
why are there so many sleepless nights
is the thought of you keeping me awake
the way you moved, the way you smiled
nah! i’m over you, i just slept all morning
not today
not today, my love
not when the skies bleed
not when the lands parch
not when the clocks stop
don’t break my heart
